Game Rules

Football

Football
Each team may have a squad of up to 5 registered players and may rotate the line-up during matches.
Each team may field 4 outfield players and 1 goalkeeper on the pitch at any time.
Teams must have 5 players on the pitch at all times, including 1 female player and the goalkeeper.
A maximum of 2 substitutes per team is allowed.
Shin pads and studs are mandatory; players without them are responsible for any injuries.
Referee’s decisions are final and binding.
Referee holds full disciplinary authority throughout the match.

Cricket

Cricket
Matches are knockout; schedules shared one week prior.
Only Target India team members may play; carry ID cards; non-members cause disqualification.
No rescheduling.
Vicky balls, bats, and wickets provided; new ball each innings; teams may bring their own bats.
One over for women to bat/bowl; may throw if unable to bowl.
Teams must maintain same 11 players + 4 substitutes; changes lead to disqualification.
Eliminated players cannot join other teams; no last man batting.
Umpire decisions final; Super Over decides ties.

Table Tennis

Table Tennis
Matches follow a knockout format; schedules are shared two days prior.
Only IQVIA employees may participate; teams including non-IQVIA players will be disqualified.
Matches are single games; finals are best of 3 sets.
The first to 15 points wins; at 14–14, a 2-point lead decides the winner.
Odd entries receive a bye; highest-margin winners may receive byes in later rounds.
Players must arrive 10 minutes early.
A five-minute no-show results in a walkover; if both teams are absent, the match is cancelled.
No rescheduling is allowed.
Touching the table results in losing the point.
Referee’s decision is final.

Chess

Chess
Matches follow a knockout format; schedules are shared two days prior.
Choice of color is decided by toss.
Semifinals and finals are best of 3 rounds; colors alternate each game.
This is an open tournament with no category limits.
Players must arrive 10 minutes early.
Each game is timed at 30 minutes (15 minutes per player).
10-second move adds a time increment.
A player wins by checkmate or if the opponent’s timer ends.
There is no move limit until the timer expires.
Finals are played after the knockout rounds.
Referee’s decision is final.

Carrom

Carrom
Matches follow a knockout format; schedules are shared two days prior.
This is an open tournament; teams may include two employees, two contractors, or one of each.
If there is an odd number of entries, a team receives a bye; highest-margin winners may receive byes in later rounds.
Players must arrive at least 10 minutes early for their scheduled match.
A five-minute no-show results in a walkover; if both teams are absent, the match is cancelled.
Each game lasts 15 minutes; the winner is decided by points once the time limit expires.
No rescheduling is permitted under any circumstances.
Finals are played after the knockout rounds.
Referee’s decision is final and binding.

Throwball

Throwball
Each team has 9 players (7 on court, 2 substitutes).
Rally scoring; points scored only on serve.
6 teams divided into 2 pools; each team plays 2 games.
Top 2 teams from each pool advance to semifinals.
Serve is taken after referee’s whistle, from behind the back line.
Points are lost for net hits or missed returns; ball may touch the net.
Catch and throw only—no volleys or passes allowed.
Throws must be from above the shoulder; maximum 2 touches per team.
Jump throws allowed; follow “Z” rotation for service.
No shifts, double hits, or body touches permitted.
At 15-all, a team must win by 2 points.

Badminton

Badminton
All matches are knockout; schedules will be shared one week prior with team captains.
Tournament is exclusive to KPMG employees; players must carry ID cards.
Participants must behave professionally, avoiding abusive language, gestures, or questioning the referee’s decisions.
All team members must wear appropriate sports attire and shoes for the game.
A team 10 minutes late loses by walkover; if both teams are absent, the match is cancelled.
Serves must be diagonal, underarm, and below the waist; no second serves allowed.
Once the shuttlecock is live, players may move freely and hit it from outside the court.
Referee’s decision is final in all matters.
